Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Snooker Pool League mobile application (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing a valid email address for authentication
  • Choosing an appropriate display name

3. User Conduct

When using the App, you agree to:

  • Use appropriate and non-offensive display names and league names
  • Record match scores accurately and honestly
  • Not impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
  • Not attempt to manipulate leaderboards or standings through fraudulent scores
  • Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Respect other league members and maintain fair sportsmanship

4. User-Generated Content

The App allows users to create content including display names, league names, league descriptions, and admin broadcast messages. You retain ownership of content you create, but grant us a license to display it within the App as necessary for its functionality.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or is deemed inappropriate. League owners and administrators can remove members from their leagues.

5. League Management

League owners and administrators are responsible for managing their leagues, including approving members, resolving disputes, and maintaining fair play. We provide the tools but do not intervene in individual league management decisions.

6. Service Availability

We strive to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime that temporarily affects availability.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of standings or match records, or any disputes between league members.

8. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. GDPR & Data Protection

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR): (a) contract performance — to provide the App and its features; and (b) consent — given at registration when you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data (you can edit your display name in the App)
  • Erasure — delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen
  • Data portability — request an export of your data by contacting us
  • Withdraw consent — you may withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal
  • Lodge a complaint — you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Snooker Pool League, its operators, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, any content you submit, or your violation of these Terms of Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
